Our Story
KG Group represents the joining of two families, two entrepreneurial journeys, and a shared vision for the future.
Robert Grand grew up in Oakridge, Oregon, where he was introduced to real estate through his mother, a real estate agent. By age 11, he was helping prepare properties and learning firsthand how hard work and thoughtful investments could create opportunity.
Robert built a career in the fire service while pursuing real estate investing, growing from individual properties into acquisitions, renovations, brokerage operations, and development.
Shelly Kane brought her own entrepreneurial vision, creativity, and passion for transforming properties into welcoming homes and memorable experiences. She spent 15 years at Lane Community College mentoring Culinary Arts and Hospitality students and previously owned Moxie Events, an event planning company.
Together, Robert and Shelly built an interconnected family of businesses spanning acquisitions, real estate sales, construction, property management, and hospitality.
The name KG is simple: Kane + Grand.
But what it represents is much bigger.
It’s about building something together, creating opportunities for their family and communities, and establishing a foundation that can last for generations.

The Founders
Robert Grand, Co-Founder
24 years in fire service leadership, currently Battalion Chief with Eugene Springfield Fire. In real estate since 2011, first as a licensed principal broker, now as an investor, builder, and Oregon-licensed general contractor. He entered this business in the year Lane County recorded its second-lowest housing production in three decades.
Shelly Kane, Co-Founder
Directs construction and rehabilitation across every project, with a career background at the top tier of home staging and design that shapes how each building is finished and positioned.
